๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑHeโ€™s Just 15โ€ฆ But His โ€œCry Me a Riverโ€ Voice Sounds Like a 60-Year-Old Jazz Legend

When 15-year-oldย Daniel Chettoeย walked onto theย Britainโ€™s Got Talentย stage in 2015, he looked like any regular quiet schoolboy from Lancashire. A bit nervous, hands clasped, he told the judges he loved classic music and old-style songs โ€” but nothing prepared them for what came next.ย

Daniel choseย โ€œCry Me a Riverโ€ย in the Ella Fitzgerald style, a smoky jazz standard that even many adults struggle to pull off. As soon as he opened his mouth, the room froze. Out of this teenager came a rich, velvety croonerโ€™s voice that sounded like it belonged to someone several decades older. Simon Cowell later joked it was as if Daniel had โ€œswallowed a 60-year-old man whoโ€™s singing for you,โ€ while David Walliams laughed that โ€œthe good news is your voice is definitely broken.โ€ย

The longer he sang, the more confident he became, gliding through the melody with real swing and control. The audience went from curious to cheering mid-song, clearly loving the old-soul sound coming from such a young face. By the final note, Daniel had the crowd and judges completely on side and sailed through to the next round with ease โ€” his โ€œbig surpriseโ€ officially revealed.ย

He walked on looking like a normal teen.

He walked off as the boy with a voice straight out of a smoky jazz club from another era.
